I heard you moved… Where to?!?!
We are still at 1111 Hewitt Ave. We moved into a different part of the same buidling and are technically still on the same corner, closer to K Fresh.
Do you sell art? Can I shop at the studio?
YES! We have an adorable retail area and are always adding something new. We want to see you art! Please come shop at the brick and mortar studio at 1111 Hewitt Ave. You can also find the studio’s pottery at another local business over at Artisan’s Mercantile down the street. Slugs in Art O Mat vending machines and Pottery at Ellie and Clarence in Index, Wa. There are also a few pieces for sale online under the art tab.
Currently we have build your own clay kits, branded pottery tools, watercolors, stickers, functional pottery, planters and decorative figures from molds. We also take custom orders! During art walk on the 3rd Thursday of the month feel free to walk over and stop in.
Do you Host Artists?
Yes, we participate in Everett’s art walk on the 3rd Thursday and you can apply to be one of our artists. We are also hosting a Winter Art Market which has an open call for art. You can find more details about all of this under the Art Walk Tab.
I have no experience with clay but have always wanted to try it. What should I sign up for?
All of our classes are set up to help beginners succeed and have fun with clay. Our Second Saturday Intro to Wheel throwing class teaches people with no experience, so we start at the very basics. If you want to keep it casual then come to one of our single handbuilding seasonal classes (which are so fun and relaxing) We also have a date night class. Once you know you like clay and the studio you will want to sign up for one of our series classes!

How do I sign up for classes?
You can sign up for a variety of classes at the “Studio bookings” tab above. Sign up for classes online here! While you can usually show up for a class and sign up in person and there may be space…. there is no guarantee. So plan and reserve your spot by registering on the website now. It helps us track inventory and get the materials ready for class.
I love pottery and want to get into the studio! What are my options?
Almost too many to count! If you would like to be in the studio a lot then a subscription membership is for you. Visiting from out of town and want to vibe in a different studio? We have a walk in studio time option you can purchase in person or just come to our seasonal special classes to keep life artsy. Even if you have experience, the series class is a great value with lots of classes and open studio time included.
How do I schedule a private class? What is your availability?
Once a private class is purchased online under the “studio bookings—->private classes” tab you will have a space to type in any times or dates that work for you. Then once purchased you will be emailed to talk schedule. If you have questions or want to have an idea prior to purchase you are free to email us to see if it is available prior to purchase of a private class.
There is no set availability as every week is different based on our classes and schedule. However, generally weekdays, daytimes, Wednesday evenings and Weekends are the times that are best for a private class with the studio schedule. Please plan in advance and think about scheduling at least 2-3 weeks prior for private classes.
Do you have a kiln? Can I bring my greenware to be fired?
YES! We have a kiln and will fire your work. We charge by the sq foot per firing. If you have a very tall or wide sculpture it will fall outside of these parameters and will be an additional fee.
I like your style, how can I support you?!
Buy a piece of pottery! We are always making art and want the art to make peoples every day life better!
Is the studio wheel chair accessible?
Yes it is. There are no stairs or curbs to get into the studio, and you can park in our lot to access the studio. We have tables that are the right hight for wheelchair users to hand-build at. The floor plan is open and makes it easy to maneuver in. Currently we do not have any wheels that are lever/hand operated. If you would like to see for yourself, feel free to stop by and wheel around.
Do you host large groups?
Yes. We can host birthday parties, coorporate parties, whatever parties! There are different pricing structures for wheel throwing or hand building.
If you are interested in a larger private group for a team building or family event please email us for further details, prices and scheduling. We can handle large groups of up to 30 for handbuilding projects and can provide an invoice upon request. We do require payment prior to class.
I am interested in the studio assistant program. What now?
We are not currently accepting new studio assistants. Please check out the hybrid membership instead.
Do you have a discount?
Here’s a discount code for you! Play2024 to save 10% off classes. Each of the teachers at Salish Sea Ceramic Studio has a lot to offer and you get full value for your classes at the studio. A lot of overhead goes into the studio including rent, clay, glazes, tools, payroll, cost of living, wear and tear, labor, planning, communications, business costs etc. Each piece of pottery takes a lot of human labor and attention to detail with glazing, loading and unloading into the kiln you do not see. However, We have started offering a few spots at a sliding scale for our series classes. So please contact us, if you need a break. Cuz we all need one.
What about Covid?
We are asking everyone to hand sanitize, observe good social hygiene and to stay home when they are sick. We are sorry but we do not offer refunds for covid. We are able to reschedule for another class in the future. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO WITH ACTIVE COVID>>However, we are no longer requiring masks and do not check vaccine cards. Most of us are double or triple vaxed and if you would like to wear a mask, we want you to be comfortable and be yourself. Currently there is enough space for everyone to have room to breathe. We diffuse essential oils and sanitize surfaces regularly with Thieves cleaner.
