Level 1: Feb 10 week Wheel Throwing Series with Unlimited Open Studio Time Thursday Evenings

6:30pm-9pm, Thursday nights February 29th-May 9th

Blast off your pottery skills with this 10 week wheel throwing class. You will be taken through the whole pottery arc including wheel throwing, altering and trimming a form and glazing. With 10 weeks (plus an extra week during spring break) There is so much time to learn a variety of forms and techniques, plus get some good practice in! Students love this long format at the studio.

Forms that will be covered begin with cylinders and progress to mugs, bowls, plates, vases, trimming clay and the different ways to trim the variety of shapes, plus time to cover some other decorating techniques. No experience necessary and all materials included. Students signed up for this class will also have access to Salish Sea Ceramic Studio during open studio hours. Updated Weekly on Google, open studio hours are an important part of class in order to practice skills and make work. With a 10 wk class and almost three months of access to the studio this long format class is the crown jewel of the studio and we love hosting it! Plus we have a week off for Spring Break since people tend to travel and there will still be open studio hours! (the first week of April) Class size of 12 people. This class focuses on intro to wheel throwing, assuming the student has no experience but will still address so much variety and give you so much detail that taking this class a second time or taking it even if you do have experience is still very much encouraged.

unlimited access during open studio hours to the studio during the series to continue learning and practicing

25lbs of clay

Access to pottery wheels, tools, and materials in a friendly, artistic environment

20% off of retail pottery on last day of class.

No class during the week of spring break (first week of April there will still be studio hrs)

Things to Brings:

snacks, a personal towel and apron, no rings or jewelry or watches

Not mandatory but recommended to purchase your own starter tool kit which includes, needle tools, ribs and a wire cutter.
